Certificate in Applied Association Management (CAAM)

The Certificate in Applied Association Management (CAAM) is NZSAE’s professional recognition for those working in and leading membership organisations in New Zealand. Designed to be practical and accessible, it offers association professionals a clear development pathway that strengthens both individual careers and the wider sector. By engaging with this programme, participants demonstrate their commitment to continuous learning, gain exposure to all core functions of association practice, and build confidence and credibility as sector leaders.

CAAM is built around NZSAE's Learning Circles, our collaborative learning forums, as well as a short online course and reflective learning assignment. Once awarded, it can be maintained through regular engagement in the association community via CPD activities.

To earn the Certificate, participants must:

  • Attend at least one session from each of the five Learning Circles (5 sessions total)
  • Attend three additional sessions of their choice (8 sessions total)
  • Complete the self-paced Membership Essentials Online Course
  • Submit a short reflective assignment

CPD Requirements
