Membership Engagement | The New Zealand Speech-language Therapists' Association (NZSTA)

NZSTA is looking for a warm, highly organised Membership Engagement Coordinator to support our members, representatives, and volunteers across Aotearoa New Zealand.

This is a part-time remote role for someone who understands service, values relationships, and enjoys keeping systems, communications, and people connections running smoothly.

About the role

  • Coordinate membership administration, selected pathway processes, and representative support.
  • Draft and coordinate routine communications, including email updates and member notices.
  • Support professional development activities, events, and selected public awareness work.
  • Help members feel informed, connected, and valued.

We are looking for someone who

  • Lives NZSTA’s values in the way they work and relate to others.
  • Builds positive, professional relationships with members and volunteers.
  • Is confident and dependable with administration and coordination.
  • Writes clearly and communicates with warmth and good judgement.
  • Is comfortable using digital systems and learning new processes.
  • Can work independently in a remote role while staying collaborative and responsive.

It would be great if you also bring

  • Experience in a membership organisation, professional body, not-for-profit, or allied health setting.
  • Experience supporting events, volunteers, committees, or representative networks.
  • Familiarity with Canva, survey tools, or basic digital reporting.
  • Knowledge of speech-language therapy, health, disability, or education sectors.

This role helps members stay connected to NZSTA and to one another. It supports the everyday systems, communications, and relationships that make membership feel useful, welcoming, and well-run.

Role details

  • 20 hours per week
  • Remote within Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Reports to the Executive Director
  • Occasional travel may be required
